Browse books, videos and courses

Find resources by subject, publisher, approach or author, and narrow any list by type.

Toka gathers books, videos, courses, DVDs, PDFs and websites in one place, and there are several ways in. No account is needed to look around.

Start from the home page

The home page is a good first stop when you are not sure what you want yet. Scroll through the shelves to see what other families are using:

  • Browse by subject opens a subject such as history or science.

  • Browse by approach groups resources by teaching style, like read-alouds or unit studies.

  • Browse by publisher shows a few titles from each curriculum publisher.

To see everything at once, click Browse resources, or Browse at the top of any page.

Browse by subject

Every resource is filed under one or more subjects. Pick a subject chip under Browse by subject to open its page.

A subject page lists its own resources first, then its videos. Bigger subjects have smaller ones inside them, shown as chips under Subcategories.

Browse by publisher

Click Publishers to see every publisher we carry. Curriculum publishers come first, under Homeschool publishers. Trade publishers of novels and classics follow under General publishers.

On a publisher's page you can:

  1. Look over the Featured Resources at the top.

  2. Scroll the shelves, grouped by subject.

  3. Type in the search box to look only within that publisher.

  4. Click Visit website to open the publisher's own site.

Browse by approach or tag

Tags describe how a resource teaches, or which program it belongs to. Click any tag on a resource page to see everything that shares it. The tags page lists every tag at once.

Find more by the same author

An author's or channel's name on a resource page is a link. Click the name to see every resource we list by that person.

Narrow a list by type or order

The Browse page has a row of controls above its results:

  • Type: choose Books, Videos, Courses and so on, or All.

  • Order: switch between Title A–Z and Newest.

  • Layout: two icons, on most lists, switch between Grid view and List view.

To narrow any list to your child's age, see choose a level.
