Compare prices from different sellers

See what each seller is asking for a resource, new and used, and how paid links work.

The Compare prices section on a resource page shows what each seller is asking right now, cheapest first. Curriculum is expensive, so it is worth a look before you buy.

Why does it say it is searching?

We check sellers in the background, so the first visit to a resource can take a minute or two. While that happens you see Searching sellers for the best price…, and cards appear as prices come in.

A line above the cards says when the prices were last checked. When we could not reach a seller just now, you see the last prices we recorded, dated, rather than nothing at all.

New, used and condition

Prices are grouped by format and by New or Used, so a used paperback is never compared with a new hardcover. When there are several formats, a table at the top shows the Cheapest price by format and condition.

A used copy carries one of these conditions:

  • Like new

  • Very good

  • Good

  • Acceptable

A used card may show a percentage saving. It is measured against a new copy in the same format, so the saving is one you can really get.

Did the price go up or down?

A small arrow beside a price compares it with its lowest point in the last 90 days. Hover over it to read the full sentence.

Some sellers do not let us record their price. They appear under Also sold at. Open the seller's page to see what they are asking today.

What "paid link" means

A link marked (paid link) goes to a seller who pays Toka a small commission when you buy through it. Those commissions keep Toka free.

The seller's price is the same whichever link you use. The seller's own disclosure is printed under Affiliate disclosures at the bottom of the panel.

Get told when the price drops

Click Set a price alert and move the slider to the price you would happily pay. We email you when it drops to that price or below.

Price alerts need a free account, so you are asked to sign in first.
