When your child browses Toka in their own view, they see only what you've approved. You decide, one resource at a time or all at once.
Approve a resource
Open the resource's page while signed in as yourself.
Find the switches marked with each child's name, under Can open this in their catalogue when signed in with a PIN.
Turn on the switch for each child who may open it.
Assigning it counts too. When you give a child a task from a resource or collection, Toka offers to approve it for them at the same moment.
Approve many at once
Approve a whole category, publisher or collection in one go:
From the page itself — on a category, a publisher, one of your collections, a Challenge level or a Foundations week, click Approve for a child…. On a Foundations week you can approve the whole week, or one strand from beside its heading.
From a child's list — click Add approvals, then choose a category, publisher or collection. A category can include its subcategories.
Then tick the children it's for — none are ticked for you — and check the count before you confirm. Toka shows how many resources each child gets and how many they already had.
Changed your mind? Click Undo on the message that appears, or later use Remove this batch in the child's list. Either way, only that batch goes — anything you'd approved before stays.
Review a child's approved list
On the Kids page, click the approved resources link on a child's card. The list shows everything they may open and how each one was approved.
Remove one — click Remove beside it.
Remove a batch — resources approved together are grouped under what you approved; Remove this batch removes the whole group for that child.
Add more — Add approvals approves a category, publisher or collection. For a single resource, Browse the catalogue and use its page.
Let a child see everything
For an older child you trust, the switch at the top of their list opens every resource on Toka, including ones added later. Their individual approvals stay saved, so they apply again if you turn it back off.
