Hand the computer to a child

Switch a shared computer into a child's own view, let older children sign in with a PIN, and get back to your account.

Child mode turns a family computer into your child's own view: their day, memory work and store. Your account stays out of reach.

Switch a child in

  1. Open Kids from the planner.

  2. Select the button to switch to that child's view, on their card.

  3. The first time, you're asked to set a parent PIN. Type it under Your parent PIN and Confirm your PIN, then select Set PIN and continue.

Set the PIN. Without one, anyone can leave child mode and land in your account. Continue without a PIN is there if you'd rather not.

Let an older child sign in themselves

Children on the Middle or High school tier can have a PIN of their own.

  1. Give them one with Set PIN on the Kids page.

  2. They choose Switch to a child's view on the sign-in page.

  3. They pick their name under Who are you? and enter their PIN.

Younger children are always switched in by a grown-up.

Switch back to your account

  1. Select Exit at the top of the page.

  2. Enter your parent PIN.

  3. Select Exit again.

If you forget the PIN, choose Forgot PIN? and sign in with your email and password instead. That also clears the old PIN, so you can set a new one.

When a session ends

For safety, child mode doesn't last forever. After a while your child sees This session has ended and a note to ask a grown-up. Switch them in again from Kids.
