Found something wonderful that Toka doesn't list yet? Share it from the submission page, and a moderator will check it before other families see it.
Start from a link
A link saves the most typing. Toka reads the page and fills in what it can — title, description, cover and sometimes an ISBN.
Paste the address into Link to a book, video, or product page.
Click Continue.
Check every field it filled in, and fix anything that looks off.
Click Submit for review.
No link handy? Choose Scan barcode to use your camera on a book's ISBN or a DVD's barcode, or Enter details manually to type it all yourself.
What goes in the form
The form asks for the basics everyone looks for:
Title and type — pick the Type first, because it decides which fields appear next.
Descriptions — the Short description shows in browse results; the longer one goes on the resource's page.
Ages — tick Specify reading age range or Specify grade level if you know them.
Credits — the author, illustrator or channel. Use Add another credit for more than one.
First edition — the language, format, publisher and ISBN of the copy you have. More editions can be added later.
Adding a website
Choose Website as the type for an educational site such as Khan Academy or Starfall. Fill in its Website address — the site's own address.
Each site appears on Toka only once, whatever page of it you start from. If it's already listed, the form tells you and links to it. Your thoughts then belong in a review of that entry, where other parents will read them.
When Toka already has it
A warning under the title means something with that title exists. Open the link to check. If yours really is a different item, give it a title that tells the two apart.
What happens after you submit
You'll see Submission received. A moderator reviews every submission before it appears for other families — that keeps the listings accurate and safe for children.
Choose Submit another resource to add the next one while you're on a roll.
