Make a task repeat

Set a task to come back every day, week or month, and choose whether a change applies to one day or all the days after it.

A repeating task saves you typing the same thing every week. Set it up once and the planner puts it on each day it's due.

Set a task to repeat

  1. On the day page, add the task as usual, then select the pencil icon beside it.

  2. Under Repeats, choose Daily, Weekly or Monthly.

  3. Set Repeat every — every week, or every two weeks, for example.

  4. For a weekly task, choose the days it falls on. For a monthly one, pick the Day of the month.

  5. Under Ends, keep Forever or pick a last date.

  6. Select Save.

Weekly needs at least one day, and an end date can't come before the start. The form says so beside the field before anything is saved.

Repeating tasks show a small repeat badge on the day page, so you can tell them apart from one-off tasks.

Change one day or all of them

When you edit or delete a repeating task, the planner asks which days the change is for:

  • This task — only the day you are on. Handy for a one-off change, like a shorter lesson on a busy Friday.

  • This and future tasks — this day and every one after it. Earlier days stay as they were.

Changing how a task repeats always applies from this day onward, so that choice isn't offered then. It keeps the pattern consistent from one day to the next.

Stop a task repeating

Delete it from that day on. Go to the first day it should no longer appear, select the bin icon, and choose This and future tasks. Earlier days keep their task, finished work included.
