Plan around who's home

Tell the planner when people are usually around, and arrange cover when someone will be away.

Chores only go to someone who's around to do them. Two sections of Family settings tell the planner who that is.

Set when people are home

When everyone's home holds each person's usual weekly pattern. Everyone starts as Always available, so you only need this for someone who is regularly out.

  1. Choose the person at the top of the section.

  2. Select Add a time on a day and set the start and end of the time they're home.

  3. Add more times as needed, or select Same every weekday to copy the first day's times to Monday through Friday.

  4. Select Save.

A chore that falls outside someone's times shows a warning on the chore list.

Arrange cover for an absence

For a trip, a camp or a sick day, add an entry under Absences. The planner finds cover for the chores that fall in that time.

  1. Select I'll be out.

  2. Choose Who's out, when it Starts and Ends, and add a Reason (optional) if you like.

  3. Select Confirm to see which chores will move, and to whom. If nobody is free for some, it says so, so you can plan for them.

  4. Select Submit request.

Requests wait for approval under Absences and in Waiting on you, with Approve and Decline beside them.

Change your mind

Plans changed? Cancel absence moves the chores back to their usual owner.
