Preview a lesson
Open the lesson you want to check.
Under Try this lesson, click Preview.
A banner reminds you that nothing is saved in a preview, so try every answer freely.
Study as a child
Beside Preview there is a button for each enrolled child. Use it when a child works on the family computer under your login — their progress is saved to their enrollment.
Studying as a child also saves what they miss on a quiz or a number round, and their best score on each knowledge check. Later lessons open on a Quick review of what they missed. A preview never saves scores or misses, or shows a review.
What a student sees
The lesson is one long page that grows as the student goes.
Continue adds the next section below, so earlier ones stay to re-read.
Knowledge checks and drills must be finished before Continue works again.
A finished check shows the best score and the number of tries, with Retake to try again.
Below a minimum score, the end of the lesson says what's needed. The student can still move on, and the lesson reads "Needs" with the minimum instead of a tick.
PDFs and writing worksheets show as cards to open or download. A worksheet card says the paper it prints on, from each student's own print page size, and whose name the sheet will carry.
Flashcards work from the keyboard on a computer. Click a card, then press Space to flip it and the arrow keys to move between cards.
Contents opens the outline. Sections ahead stay locked until the student reaches them.
Finish lesson ends the lesson and offers Next lesson.
Previous lesson and Next lesson at the bottom move to the lessons either side at any time, in the order your course page lists them.
Back on their courses page, every finished lesson is ticked and counted, as in "2 of 76 lessons completed". Once every lesson is done it says Course completed!, with their start and finish dates.
Quick review
When earlier lessons left something to review, the lesson opens on Quick review — up to five missed items, before the first section.
Questions and pairs come first, then numbers: Next moves from one to the other.
Skip review goes straight to the lesson, and nothing unanswered is lost.
Continue to the lesson opens the lesson where the student left off.
