Enrolling puts a course in a child's own view. Publish the course first — the enroll buttons stay greyed out on a draft.
Enroll a child
Open the course and go to Enrolled children. The Jump to links under the title jump straight there.
Click Enroll beside each child who should take it.
The child now finds a Courses link on their own home screen in child view, listing every lesson.
Children can join on their own
Your published courses are offered. In child view, their Courses page lists it under More courses with a Join button, and joining enrolls them just as if you had.
Drafts are never offered. Keep a course in draft until it's ready.
A teen's own courses aren't offered. Enroll children in those yourself.
Children join but never leave. Taking a child out stays with you.
Follow their progress
Progress saves as a child finishes each lesson. Under Enrolled children, each enrolled child shows how many lessons they've completed, the percentage, a progress bar and their dates.
Started is the first day they did anything in the course — not the day you enrolled them.
Finished appears with Course completed! once every lesson is done.
Add a lesson later and the course reopens for anyone who had finished, until they do the new one.
Open a lesson and you'll find a checkbox for each enrolled child at the bottom.
Ticked means that child has reached the end of the lesson.
Tick or untick it yourself to record work done away from the screen. A tick also starts the course for them.
A lesson with a minimum score can't be ticked until the child's scores meet it — a knowledge check can't be done off-screen. The checkbox says so.
Knowledge check scores
Click Knowledge checks under a child's name. Each lesson with checks lists their score, whether it meets your minimum, and each check's best try.
You see your family's children's scores, and your own.
Other adults' scores stay theirs. A co-parent's row shows only their lesson count.
Children see their own best score on each check.
What's still in review
Back on the course page, click Show what's in review under a child's name. It lists what they missed and are still reviewing, with its lesson, how often it was missed and when it's next due.
Only the course's author sees it — never the child.
No answers or scores appear in it — just what is still coming back.
A number they heard reads like "Hear 2,005, write it in digits".
Adults taking the course
Parents can take a course too, with their own progress. They join a published course from their own courses page — see Take a family course yourself.
They appear under Adults taking this course, with their lesson count.
Only they can study as themselves, tick their lessons or leave. You can't, even as the author.
People outside your family
Anyone who joined with an invite link is listed separately, under People outside your family in Share outside your family.
Their row is short on purpose: a first name, an avatar and their dates — never their progress or scores. See Invite someone outside your family.
Remove a child
Click Remove beside their name and confirm. Their progress is kept, and their row says when they left.
Bring them back with Re-enroll — they pick up where they left off.
Or let them rejoin from their own Courses page, while the course stays published.
