Invite a co-parent

Bring a spouse or another parent onto your family account, so you can plan and check work together.

Planning goes better with two. Invite another parent, and they can add children, assign work and check it right alongside you.

Send the invite

  1. Open your profile and find Invite family members.

  2. Choose Invite a parent.

  3. Type their Email address.

  4. Click Send invite.

Use their sign-in address. The invite waits for the account with that email, so a different address means they won't see it.

Keep track of invites

Pending invites are listed under the form with days until they expire. Click Resend if the email went astray, or Cancel to withdraw it. If they turn it down, it shows as Declined.

Accepting an invite

The person you invite gets an email with a link. They sign in or create an account with that address, then accept it on the page the link opens — or choose No thanks.

Once they join, everything for your family is in their planner too.

If they already have a family on Toka

Your co-parent may have set up their own family first. Joining brings their family's data into yours. Where the two households set something differently — a family name, a time zone — they choose which to keep, then click Confirm merge.

The merge page also shows how many people you'd make together. Past 14, it can't be confirmed — one family has to make room first.

When a family is full

A family can have up to 14 people — every adult and every child, each counted once. Once yours has 14, the invite form and Resend are switched off, with the reason beside them.

  • A child's own login still works, because they're already counted — see inviting a teen.

  • Joining a full family? They're told it's full, and to ask whoever invited them to make room.

  • Still signing up? They can start their own family instead.

Inviting a teen instead

Choose Invite a teen to give an older child a login of their own. Toka asks whether it's one of your existing children, so their tasks and history can move to the new login.
