Challenge III sets no required maths text — any maths programme may be used at home. CC's own Trivium Tables reference chart and a portable laminated whiteboard offer optional supports for number work and open-ended practice.

Chemistry
A full year of Apologia's Exploring Creation with Chemistry, covering atomic structure, stoichiometry, acids and bases, thermodynamics, and equilibrium with hands-on labs throughout.
The Student Lab Report Handbook and Science Lab Journal are recommended supports for writing up and recording the year's labs.
Music Theory & Philosophy
Students take up music theory as the logic of harmony with Math in Motion in the first semester, then survey the history of Western thought with Reasoning Together: Philosophy in the second.
US History
Students survey American history across the year through A Patriot's History of the United States, using it as the basis for debate and current-events discussion.
Latin (Henle Third Year)
Students move into Henle Third Year Latin, reading Cicero's orations alongside systematic grammar review with the shared Henle Grammar reference.
Shakespeare & Poetry
Students read five Shakespeare plays closely — from Much Ado About Nothing to Hamlet — using Leithart's Brightest Heaven of Invention, then round out the year's reading list with Rhodes's guide to poetry and the Lambs' prose retellings in Tales from Shakespeare.
